Documentary Family Photography on 30A
Documentary family photography is not portrait photography.
It is not planned or posed. There are no matching outfits, no forced smiles, and no pressure to perform. It is real life.
What this means
I will photograph your family vacation, party, or event as it is really happening. Nothing is staged. No one has to fake a smile, perform, or do anything but be themselves. You are just hanging out with the people you love most and enjoying your time together while I document it. It is probably not what you are used to seeing, but I know it is so much more.
These photos tell your story. The real story. You will not end up with fake, “perfect” posed images, but images that tell who you are, who your family is, and what your life really looks like. It is a time capsule you will return to throughout the years. Your kids will look back on these images to see your love, the life you had, and the special times you spent together.
These sessions fit your family, instead of making your family fit the session. For moms, you finally get to be in the photos instead of behind the camera. For dads, there is no posing or performing. For kids, they can just be themselves, whether they are shy, moody, energetic, wild…you get the picture. No one has to “do“ anything, except be themselves and enjoy their day.
Where sessions take place
I photograph families and events all along 30A, including Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, Inlet Beach, Grayton Beach, Seaside, Watersound, and nearby communities.
Sessions can take place at the beach, your rental, or around town.
What a session feels like
Families relax quickly once we start. A few simple activities can help, especially during shorter sessions, but there is nothing you need to get ‘right.’
You spend time together. I document what naturally happens.

These sessions are not about creating a version of your family that looks perfect.
They are about preserving what is real so you can remember it later, exactly as it felt.
