My Favorite Free Locations for Family Photos on 30A
If you're looking for beautiful locations without the restrictions of a private community, my two favorite spots are Inlet Beach and Grayton Beach State Park.
Inlet Beach
Inlet Beach is my favorite place to photograph families on 30A. The beach is wide, the dunes are beautiful, and it tends to be much less crowded than many of the other beaches along 30A. That gives families more room to relax, play, and enjoy their session without feeling like they're performing in front of an audience.
Because it's a public beach, it's also a great option for visitors who aren't staying in one of the private communities like Alys Beach, Rosemary Beach, WaterColor, or WaterSound.
Grayton Beach State Park
Grayton Beach State Park is another favorite of mine, especially for families with children. The coastal dune lakes create a unique environment where kids of all ages can safely splash, explore, and play. These natural interactions often lead to some of the most authentic and memorable photographs.
Grayton is typically more crowded than Inlet Beach, especially during peak season. Parking can also be challenging, but the park operates a shuttle service during busy times, which can make access much easier.
